I was at office depot shopping when two very heavy rolls of shrink wrap fell onto my big toe. Blood gushed out and my toenail immediately turned dark red because of the bleeding below my toenails as well as bleeding around the toe area. It was very wreckless of Office Depot to have such a big heavy item on the second highest shelf with nothing to guard the shrink wrap roll from rolling out. At the site of the accident, the store manager gave me paperwork for my accident. After the accident I missed school for one day because my toe was very sore and the bleeding would not stop. My toe swelled up. For the next few days i limped around school. Its been 10 days since my accident and my toe still feels soreness and my toe nail is black purple. Is it necessary to call a lawyer? I don't really want to unless it is absolutely necessary because my life was not threatened in this accident. However, i would like to get compensated though because my toe is still sore and it was completely ignorant and wreckless of them to leave a heavy roll of shrink wrap up high like that. What should i do? If I call office depot directly, what should i tell them?
i did go to the hospital and the doctor says there's a chance my toenail could fall off because the nail is lifting up from the nailbed and is showing a change in color.

As for the shrink wrap, i was not touching the shrinkwrap. I was browsing in that aisle when workers were loading more items on the other side. The "bounce" from the loading caused the rolls to roll onto my foot. I was just standing there looking for a planner.
