My lawyer contacted me today saying that he is sending a "demand" letter for $100,000 . What exactly does that mean and what can I expect to happen now? A lady, who was leaving a service station, hit me on my bike. My bike was totalled, I was rushed to the hospital, received several stitches to the forehead, and had 2 blackeyes, cuts, bruises, aches, and pains. I have developed severe arthritis to my foot plus my psychiatrist indicates that my depression has increased significantly. How much longer will this go on, and will I actually be awarded some money? It hasn't been easy for me as I lost my fiance to COPD in December? My lawyer isn't an easy one to get answers from. I've never sued anyone before and I don't know what to expect.
