How can i turn my bedroom into a new york city style apartment?

Hi all. I want to turn my bedroom into a carrie bradshaw (sex and the city) new york style apartment.
Its black ad white (just had it decorated) so i like everything like that..but i want it to be really chic, with books out, looking really interesting, but most important, spaced out and not crowded. what can i do????? and what cool posters/pictures can i put up?
