A teen driver turned right in front of me and totaled my car and shattered my right femur. The personal injury lawyer's assistant who is working my case is no longer taking my phone calls the secretary always tells me she is busy doing something (out of office, taking statements, ect ect) and the legal assistant is no longer calling me back via phone or email. I believe she is just trying to extend the settlement time for increased lawyer fee's and is probably turning down settlement offers to force a court case. Can I settle my case with the at-fault insurance company directly and just pay my lawyer for his time and or percentage signed via contract 33%.
